Pond Preparation (After Harvest):

Drying :
The pond bottom should be allowed to dry and crack to promote the capacity of the Hydrogen sulphide and to eradicate the micro or macro organisms, and other predators.
Removing sludge:
After removing the sludge the bottom of the harvest pond, the scraping should be done on the bottom up to 2 to 3 inches depth and particularly in the areas of high organic black soil areas. Thus scrapping black soils are removed and thrown away from the pond to avoid pathogens.
Ploughing:
After removing sludge and scrapping the black soil, the ploughed pond bottom at the depth of 1 feet to remove toxic gases existing in the soil.
Treating with Lime:
By using agricultural lime and dolomite, pond should be treated. appropriate Quantity of lime should be used as per the availability of PH in the soil.
Filling the water:
Pond should be filled with water up to 1 meter from reservoir in where water is treated. Water in the pond should be conditioned with pro biotic, east, local organic juice and minerals etc. This all should be done before stocking to get bloom of algae in the pond.
